    Joe Paterno and Penn State

Too bad things got to this point at Penn State. There are a lot of similarities between this scandal and the Catholic priest scandal that has been going on around the country and the world. I guess with some people, it's human nature to not want to believe the obvious and see the dark side of people whom you've had a relationship with and put your trust in over many years. Bottom line at Penn State for me is that they dropped the ball on this, years ago and innocent children were victimized because of it. Noone is bigger than those victims, not even Joe Pa.

Everybody was a loser in this case. I feel bad for a class guy and coach in Paterno who should have never gone out like this. He did the right thing in reporting to his superiors when he learned of the initial wrong-doing, but when the Penn State AD sat on it and Sandusky's relationship with Penn State continued, Paterno should have taken it to the next level. He admitted as such.

I don't feel bad for Paterno at all! He knew what was happening and he tried to cover it up! The idea that details were kept from him are absurd! Paterno knows everything that happens in Pennsylvania! It is a huge stretch for anyone to think that he didn't know what was happening on "HIS" campus!

He might be a classy guy in most situations. However, he used bad judgement in this situation. Friend, Family or Foe would have been in the back of a police car if I knew about it. As far as the coward who witnessed the act... I have no words! I know that I would have fought anyone of any size at the moment I saw that happening... Win or lose sometimes a man has to do what he has to do. No questions asked just throw down!

Rest in Peace, Joe. I heard this morning that Joe passed away from cancer. What a disaster this past season was, for him, his memory and those poor kids that were abused as a result of the inaction of the higher-ups at Penn State. I'm sure Paterno lost his will to fight at the end. I hope he was at peace at the end. I hope he made amends somehow for his fault in this mess.
