Christmas Lights! I love Christmas lights. They remind me of the people who voted for Obama. They all hang together; half of them don't work, and the ones that do, aren't that bright!

Im not sure i understand why he would offer the job to Knapp. I would not like this as our OC and i know it would anger a lot of fans. I think Saunders is our best bet but hey what do i know we will have to have faith but this is a move i will not like and i will not support.

The Greg Knapp who was the 49ers OC is someone whom I wouldn't mind showing up. It's the Knapp who was formerly the Raider's OC during the Kiff/Cable days that I don't want.

Based on his past experience, his play-calling is as good as his MOBILE QB, otherwise his play-calling is left to be desired. His last go-round here as the Raiders OC, I'll concur that he had square pegs in round hole regarding the offensive line, wide-receiving corps who regularly showed up on ESPN's "C'mon Man" segments, and J Russ as QB.

Going from Knapp, to Cable to HueJack, at least HueJack designed the offense to the strength of the skills players. Fact was Hue had an arsenal of weapons (not all at once though) and didn't take advantage as much as I thought he could've. Another factor was the "gimmick" plays which worked and didn't work at times. In a lot of ways, I felt the gimmick plays were covering up deficiency in lack of execution on their regular plays. (Failing to convert on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1)

We need an OC who could design plays according to the strength of the roster, and balance between the conservativeness/chain-moving of Knapp, and the "flashy bully" of HueJack. Problem is I've no clue who that could be.

Well it could have been worse. I dont like this pick at all but I hope he does a better job this time around with better weapons than he had his last stint here!

May as well get over it Raider fans... We have a new head coach and he has the right to surround himself with whomever he chooses....

Al did great things for the Raiders but that was long ago...

I think this was the exact hire that DA described in his presser. He said he wanted a run first, heavy run, then explosive on PA. That is what Knapp is. Look at his O in ATL. and S.F. You can't count his first stint in Oakland when he had Russell as his QB, and very little talent on the O or D. That was the worst teams we have seen in Raider uniforms, would not have mattered who the coach was at that time. Also I do believe Al Saunders will be retained with a position such as passing coordinator/QB coach. He is still under contract as of now at least, and this makes sense.

RIP Mr. Al Davis. An Icon and Legend that will be greatly missed!

Al Saunders was offered the head coaching job a few years back and turned it down,so it's a mystery why he came on board last year, but you got to think Al Davis had him in prime position to replace Jackson at some point..probably this year,he may be bitter about whats going on now..anyway? the play calling last year like the throwing for 5 years on a 3rd and 7 they kept doing,or running Bush up the middle every fugging time on short yardage makes me thing Saunders should pack his ..No offense,no seriously..no fuggen offense!!

Was there any truth to the rumors that when Kiff was fired, the HC job was offered to Knapp first before Cable? Then Knapp turned down the position?

If there's any truth to that rumor. The fact that he's returning in the same capacity is a testimony that there's definitely a "new sheriff in da (Oak)town!"
