    Raiders release Stanford Routt

Christmas Lights! I love Christmas lights. They remind me of the people who voted for Obama. They all hang together; half of them don't work, and the ones that do, aren't that bright!

i get that he was a bit over paid and all but he was our best corner. Why let him go and not just restructure his contract. He was not as big a liability as Johnson was. I am actually not happy at all with this move.

Don't worry about it...The defense is going to be a bit more complex and stiffer next year no matter who they throw out on the field...Besides,the over paid under perform days are fuggen over in Oakland...EVERYBODY ON THAT DEFENSE IS UPGRADABLE!

This is going to be a long process. I don't agree with this at all. If we're not happy with a guy, at least try to get something for him. I'm sure we could have got at least a 4th or 5th for him. I think this is the first bad move!

I understand it from a contract standpoint but we have to get picks and build the team. I expect for more of this to happen. We have huge contracts with players that didn't produce. Others that are just too one dimensional to be worth their contract. Kamerion Wimbley one dimensional and big contract... See ya later... Richard Seymour big contract and not much impact this season. Bye Bye Houshmandzadeh, Groves, Carlisle, Barnes.

I'm sure trading him at that price was impossible, and we could possibly bring in 2-3 guys with the money saved..I never liked the guy,and if he played on a 70's or 80's team he would have had splinters in his ass from warming the bench ..I know we can find a better player than him at that price.

The truth is that he probably said no to a pay cut,so he really cut himself...He'll probably not even get the money Reggie offered him to play somewhere else....I also hope he stays in the AFC West because he will get abused by Oakland.

Scratch one defensive guy..I got about 6-7 more on my secret list...anybody know Reggie's private cell phone number?

I have 1 on my secret list and he's no secret!!! All I'm saying is... he's too slow to play his position!

Routt had the most penalties and a big contract. I think he would have accepted a cut in pay if offered. I think that they looked at his inability to cut down on the stupid penalties after all these years and just cut ties. You are right about the size of that contract. Unfortunately this means that we will not get anything for Wimbley either!

Just want to go on record as saying I like this about as much as Namdi going. Not having a real good feeling over this one for some strange reason.

What Big Mac is doing is what farmers refer to as "pruning." That is removing the excess vine and planting so more fruit will show.

It's just that we may have to wait to the 2013 season before the fruit starts showing up on the vines. For those who wanted an instant contender in 2012 may have to wait.

I never really think too much about player contracts and trade value and picks. Fact is, that most owners have money to blow, and it's not my money, so I don't care how wisely or foolishly they spend it. Imo, Routt sucked, period and I won't lose a bit of sleep now that he's gone. The blow to his ego may cause him to raise his performance level with another team next year, but he was an average CB on a below average defense, so his ability was way over-rated. I hope the pruning continues.

I agree with what you're saying but disagree with pruning. They are bringing in a landscaping team! The defense is about to be gutted big time!
