Al davis - the movie - your thoughts

IF EVER a figure can be made into a movie it has to be Mr.Davis

    Your thoughts...........

I can see it now on the movie theater marquee now. THE SILVER & BLACK LIFE OF AL DAVIS.

Lemme know what you think...maybe MAX can edit and or direct it.I have some wonderful Al Davis Books "Black Knight" and another called "SLICK" in addition to many other RAIDER books.

I do have a video tape of AL Davis life story called "THE MAVERICK ". I wish they had this on dvd.

I'm certain in due time his life will become a movie if not at least be put on dvd. But for now nothing but thoughts and prayers.

They just made a movie with Brad Pitt playing Billy Beane that is still currently on the top 10 box office draw. It would be an injustice if no one steps up and creates a film on Al Davis' legacy.

Well I knew that being I'm an A's fan as well but did not mention that and glad you did.The difference is people will come to see a movie based on AL provided it's made right and has the right characters.
Also no disrespect to Billy Bean ,he is a great baseball mind but it seems, unless you win it all nobody cares and wants to see a movie like that these days in addition to the poor economy .Damn it really has to be a special flick to drop $15 bucks plus to see a movie these days.
Here is one for you.....and I have not given it much thought yet ( and I know AL is one of a kind) but who could possibly play the life of such a huge figure like AL? What about a Silver & Black Flick about AL and the RAIDERS in 3-D. I can see it now...AL in his younger days with the silver frame shades, chewing the gum, smiling with his famous pompadour ...a paper all rolled up in his hands as his players hit the field, him telling them words of encouragement.
I got goose bumps and tears just thinking of it.

That is a thought right there. Who would you cast to play Al?

My choice would be Steve Buscemi. Keitel is a little too heavy, but he'd make a good choice also. I'm stumped on who could play a younger Al though.

HEY freeze it's C L U T C H here ....not tater salad....Nice to have your own site to play around hey r8ers ok ok ...getting back to you Freezetag , I am stumped as well .I mean many could play it because it depends ..it may be several people if you want to depict him as a younger man and then through the stages of his life ..physically speaking of course. Then he had a very unique way or speaking with a Brooklyn . Mass and Cali vocabulary. It really would be interesting.

I initially picked Buscemi and Keitel because of their Brooklyn roots. Slick Imperioli hair back and place the glasses on him, and you have a younger Al Davis. Pacino and Garcia would be somewhat of a stretch. Garcia's Miami accent wouldn't really match well with that New Englander/Brooklyn drawl. Pacino's voice is uniquely Pacino's.
